DELEGATE BAG OPPORTUNITY!

Our Delegate Bags were so successful last year – thank you SeaDragon for sponsoring the bag again this time – now all we need is for people to commit to something to put into it.

Take the opportunity to get your name in front of the industry in a memorable way. We will be making up around 180 bags – and we need branded items to put into them.

Close to date stock, a new product, a drink bottle, skincare samples. If you have anything we can put into the bags, whatever the quantity please let us know. No leaflets or pens please.

NPNZ Response to Consumer Article & a Cautionary Note
Some of you will have seen the recent article in Consumer Magazine written as a result of mystery shopping, and targeting glucosamine and probiotic products. Our response can be found on the attached link to our website: www.naturalproductsnz.org/response-to-consumer-magazine-article-about-glucosamine-probiotics/.

We do want to add a cautionary note though: The Consumer Magazine article about dietary supplement health claims revealed that some retail health store assistants are giving questionable advice to customers.

There is a likelihood that Consumer Magazine highlighted a handful of negative examples without balancing them with examples of the high quality advice that they no doubt received. Even so, this does provide manufacturers, distributors and retailers with a timely reminder about the importance of regular retail staff training – and ongoing assessment.

NPNZ is committed to ensuring natural products sold in New Zealand are high quality, safe and effective – and the same goes for the advice that is given in relation to these products. We therefore encourage all of our members to review the training and ongoing assessment provided to front-line retail employees. You may even wish to consider using mystery shoppers as part of your continuous improvement activities.

Taking these steps will benefit your own business and the industry as a whole.
