As you are aware the Ministry of Health has published a high level consultation paper entitled ‘The Development of a Natural Health Products Bill’.
The paper presents concepts and options for a NZ model for the regulation of Natural Health Products and seeks submissions on the content.
As your membership organisation, NPNZ plans to make a submission on behalf of industry members and invites your comments and input into that submission.
We would like to hear your views on the content of the consultation paper so that we can then base the NPNZ submission on the collective views of the membership.
We accept that there are likely to be differing views on various areas within the consultation paper – NPNZ will run with the majority view wherever possible. However, if there is no clear majority NPNZ will summarise the main views and state that companies are not able to agree on a certain area (if that turns out to be the case).
Attached is a document outlining the 32 questions asked by the Ministry of Health has posed. Could you please either answer the questions in the attached document or send us your own company’s draft or final submission on the consultation.
Deadline for comments/submissions to be received by NPNZ is Friday 30 April, 2010.
It is likely that not all companies in the NPNZ membership would be affected by a Natural Health Products Bill. However, if you think there could be an impact on your business then we encourage you to a) put in your own company submission and b) provide input and direction to the NPNZ submission.
Please send your comments by email – either in format answering the questions (document attached) or in the form of a submission draft/final – to [email protected] by Friday 30 April 2010.
Best regards
Michelle
